University of the West Indies - Bachelor of Arts in Caribbean Sign Language Interpreting
The B.A. Caribbean Sign Language Interpreting targets students who want to serve the interests of deaf communities in the Caribbean. It allows students to develop fluency in Caribbean Sign Language and expertise in Sign Language interpreting, while also exposing them to deaf culture, and the place of sign language in Caribbean societies. Graduates of the programme are recognized as qualified Caribbean Sign Language interpreters, while also, as holders of a BA degree, being expected to be lifelong adaptable learners, critical and analytic thinkers, capable researchers and communicators. This programme provides a basis for postgraduate degree study in Linguistics and related subject areas.
