University of Technology, Jamaica - Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health
The Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health seeks to produce graduates with the competences for environmental management. Specially, it seeks to produce graduates who will identify and address environmental and occupational conditions which impact on human health.
The course is designed to accomplish the following:
- Produce graduates with the knowledge, skills and attitude, which will enable them to offer environmental health services to communities in all settings.
- Enable graduates to keep abreast of technological advances and trends in environmental health, their impact and the implications for environmental management.
- Create awareness with graduates of their role and responsibility as environmental health practitioners to lead efforts to sustain and preserve the environment.
- Enable graduates to acquire abilities in general education to achieve a rounded academic, professional and personal development.
- Enable graduates to function as a member of the multi-disciplinary health care system.
The course, which is four years in full time, study is comprised of 131 credit hours accomplished over eight(8) fifteen-(15) week semesters. One cohort of learners is admitted in August of each academic year.

Entry Requirements:
1.Five passes at CXC General Proficiency with grades at I& II (Grade III as of 1998) or CSEC or GCE O'level, with grades at A, B, or C In English Language, Mathematics, Biology/Human and Social Biology and Chemistry, One other pass at the CXC general proficiency or CSEC or GCE O'level in an advanced subject.
2. Attendance at a panel interview is required for all selected applicants.
3. The compulsory subjects should be obtained in no more than two sittings. Candidates with other types of academic qualifications will be evaluated in accordance with the University's regulations governing academic equivalence.
4. *Clothing & Textile, Home Management, Religious Education, Office Procedure, Principle of Business, Typing and Shorthand are NOT considered approved subjects for matriculation. - Number of Credits: 138
