University of the West Indies - Bachelor of Education in Language Education - Literacy Studies
The B.Ed. in Language Education – Literacy Studies is a programme for aspiring teachers who wish to become professionally certified as Literacy specialists. The programme of study consists of specialist courses for Literacy teachers, a core of education courses which provides the essential foundation for any programme in education, and content courses offered in the Literatures in English and Linguistics programmes. An immersive practicum experience prepares the student-teacher for their profession. The programme is intended to stimulate students’ commitment to lifelong learning and continuous professional development. This programme provides a basis for entry into a range of Master’s of Education programmes, such as in Inclusive & Special Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Measurement, and Teacher Education.
