University of the West Indies - Bachelor of Science in Diagnostic Imaging (Radiography)
This programme offers a base for advancement into specialized imaging and treatment modalities including Mammography, Computed Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasonography, Radiation Therapy and related imaging areas. The BSc. in Diagnostic Imaging (Radiography) program is geared toward the development of highly knowledgeable and skilled Medical Imaging Technologists / Radiographers. Training prepares students in the safe use of ionizing radiation (X-rays) in the production of diagnostic images of body parts and systems. Medical Imaging technologists / Radiographers work alongside radiologists (specialist doctors) who interpret images and report findings of x-ray images for diagnosis and treatment of disease processes.
The program is a 3-year full-time one for which the didactic and clinical components span 3 semesters in any academic year. The clinical experience provides students with placement in local, private and public medical imaging sites and hospitals.

- Entry Requirements: 6 CSEC subjects (General Proficiency Gradies I-III or equivalents) in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Biology or Human and Social Biology, and two ther subjects including a scinece subject. *Physics is a compulsory subject for entry. Passes in Caribbean Advance Proficiency Examination (CAPE) Science subjects and Communication Studies (grades 1-3) provide an advantage in the selection process. *Applicant is required to attend an interview.
