Who is this qualification for:  This qualification targets individuals preparing to work in Agricultural Livestock Valuation in the Agricultural Livestock Industry. Agricultural Livestock Valuators primary duties involves collecting farm information; historical data, market research, conducting site visits, conducting assessments/appraisals, analysing and calculating the value of livestock using historical data and the market value of livestock and detailing the evidence of the valuation process to prepare and present a valuation report. Request for a valuation may come from stakeholders or Ministry, Agencies and departments and the valuators may sometimes be asked to attend court to present evidence. This Level 3 Qualification in Agricultural Livestock Valuation is the first official qualification of its kind and will allow farmers/stakeholders to be compensated for loss/damage to livestock.

Qualification Description: This NVQ-J in Agricultural Crop Valuation will cover the competencies required to process valuation requests, conduct valuation/assessment of livestock, manage projects and prepare valuation reports, establish leadership and supervisory practices in the workplace, conduct business practices, utilize financial management skills, utilize personal development skills in the workplace, use digital technology to improve work process and in the elective cluster they will develop language and technical competencies.

Qualification Value: Having completed this NVQ-J Level 3 Qualification, candidates will be awarded a diploma, which is regionally and internationally accepted. It provides a basis for matriculation and is an alternate route to higher education. This qualification is equivalent to a Diploma on the National Qualifications Framework of Jamaica.
