This Building Construction Drafting Level 3 qualification focuses on providing learners with the opportunity to develop the knowledge and skills required to perform duties in drafting to support building design. Persons complete this qualification may be employed as a Building Design Drafter. Building Design Drafter may work on a wide range of building design projects, including residential and commercial projects along with the support of an Architect or Building Designer at the preliminary phase of the Construction Industry. These individuals will garner the foundational competencies and skills for the occupational area, while adhering to the regulation and standards.

This qualification provides individuals with the technical and non-technical skills and competencies for building constructing drafting. As a part of this training, learners will undertake training in the procedures and techniques in: creating and interpreting drawings of buildings using traditional and computer aided methods; performing measurements and applying math construction; knowledge of construction and structural drafting, gaining an understanding of the differences between designing commercial and residential structures. Planning and organizing work, conducting workplace communication and participating in work teams are also covered in this qualification so as to further bolster their employability skills and help them prepare for work in the modern Construction Industry.
