NVQ Level 2 Youth Development Work
This qualification is ideal for persons who operate in a minimally supervised capacity. The competencies relate specifically to youth work and are designed to be used as a tool to guide the professional development of the Youth Work profession and not to be seen as barriers for entry in the field of Youth Development Work. Youth Work Professionals work with or on behalf of youth to facilitate their personal, social, and educational development; enabling them to gain a voice, influence, and place in society as they transition from dependence to independence.
Youth development workers may be employed
primarily in non-compulsory educational and developmental settings;
to work with young people between ages 11 and 25;
to operate in a variety of systems and settings similar to social workers or nurses.
