University of Technology, Jamaica - Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering
The Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering programme seeks to train individuals to become competent and committed to the integrity of structures and infrastructures. The programme is dedicated to developing Engineers who are appropriately trained and competent, with the goal of educating and equipping aspiring Professional Engineers to provide an acceptable level of sound Civil Engineering practices in an evolving Industry. This programme aims to provide a cemented foundation for Graduates to pursue further studies in other related technical, professional or managerial disciplines.
There are several related 3-year Diploma courses of study offered by the Faculty of the Built Environment that may also aid matriculation into the B.Eng in Civil Engineering Course of Study. This course of study is prescribed for four(4) Academic Years in duration, organised on a flexible time basis over each Academic Year which approximately consists thirty-two (32) weeks across two (2) Semesters (16 weeks per semester).

Entry Requirements:
1.Five (5) CSEC/GCE O\'Level English Language, Mathematics, Physics and 2 other (Technical or Science related) subjects, PLUS GCE A\'Level Mathematics, Physics and one other relevant subject OR Six(6) CAPE Units including Physics Units I and II and 2 other units in related subjects.
2.Successful completion of Level 1 of the Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with a minimum GPA of 3.05.
3. Successful completion of UTech B.Eng in in Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (for Advanced Placement to Level 2)
4.Applicants with UTech's Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering may start at the beginning of Level 2.
5. Applicants with an Associate Degree in Engineering from: Montego Bay, Portmore, or Knox Community College or any other approved institution, with a minimum GPA of 2.7, may start at the beginning of Level 2. - Number of Credits: 130
