NCTVET - NVQ-J Level 5 in Human Resource Management


Who this qualification is for: This Level 5 qualification in Human Resource Management is designed for
people responsible for managing the delivery of human resource services in a business setting. It targets
Human Resource Managers, HR Administrators and HR Consultants. These are professionals who
provide opportunities for individuals to progress in their employment or progress in higher education
qualifications such as a degree in this filed or other related fields by balancing employability skills with
academic attainment.
Upon entering this Level 5 Human Resource Management qualification, individuals are required to

Graduates completing this qualification will be able to demonstrate sound knowledge of Human
Resource Management principles and practices from the respective competencies. They will be able to
work independently or as a part of a team. They will communicate effectively as they develop skills and
qualities that will help them in the field of study as they commit to helping organizations increase their
productivity through better use of their human resources.

Qualification Value: Having successfully completed this NVQ-J Level 5 Qualification, candidates will be
awarded a First Degree, which is regionally and internationally accepted. It provides a basis for
matriculation and is an alternate route to higher education. This qualification is equivalent to a First
Degree on the Integrated Qualifications Framework of Jamaica.
