NVQ-J Level 2 in Masonry
This qualification targets Individuals wishing to advance their career in the Building and Construction Industry. Persons who complete this NVQJ may explore several career options: Mason and Concreter. The knowledge and skills components of this qualification are geared towards demonstrating knowledge of how to perform masonry activities. Masonry is the major element in the construction of buildings; using mainly concrete building blocks, stones and bricks. Masonry is used for the construction of foundation, walls and columns. Concrete is the binding material for the building blocks. Learner will be able to acquire competencies such as laying of segmental paving, carrying out concrete work, carrying out steel fixing,
constructing brick and block walls, carrying out general demolition, applying various types of finishes to job and using power tools and static machines.
