NVQ-J Level 2 in Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Milling
This NVQ-J for Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Milling targets persons interested in pursuing a career as a Junior CNC Milling Operator within the Metal Engineering and Maintenance Industry. Computer Numerical Control, CNC milling machines are machine tools used for the shaping of metal and other solid materials. CNC milling can be used to create a finished product from raw material or as a secondary process to add definition. The competencies and skills in this qualification will allow learners to, under supervision, set up and operate CNC Machines to produce pieces for production. Learners will be covering the clusters which will enable them to prepare drawings using manual drawing techniques, to create drawings using computer aided equipment, to programme CNC machines, to set up CNC machines, to set up CNC machining operations for CNC Milling processes. It will also cover the relevant workplace competences such as complying with OSH, security and assess risks, customer service, applying critical thinking, problem solving and research skills, entrepreneurial and personal development skills and digital literacy skills.
