This qualification is intended for persons who wish to pursue a career in the Motor Vehicle Repair Industry. It includes a range of fundamental requirements that enables the candidate to have in-depth knowledge of motor vehicle components and their functions. This plan includes the removal and replacement of components for motor vehicles that are less than 3.5 tonnes such as the fuel components and assemblies and engine systems. These individuals will be required to work under supervision and are given clear directions of how to complete the tasks. The knowledge and skills components are geared to the specific task assigned.

In this qualification the competencies and skills acquired will allow candidates to perform simple to complex
Motor Vehicle Repair jobs. Learners will cover core cluster/modules in the removal and replacement of
engine system, chassis systems, transmission systems, auxiliary electrical systems They will also cover
related units covered under the following clusters: application of health and safety in the workplace, digital
literacy and numeracy and how to communicate effectively and safely in the workplace.
