 PLANT AND MACHINE OPERATORS AND ASSEMBLERS

Successful graduates from the Applied Associate of Science in Automotive Repairs and Engineering will be able to:

  1.   Work and communicate effectively with others through oral, written or graphic means to demonstrate interpersonal skills, attitudes and work habits that comprise acceptable professional behavior.
  2.  Distinguish among moral, ethical and legal aspects of business practices as applied to automotive industry occupations.
  3. Utilize principles of effective personnel management in the supervision of employees.
  4. Exhibit a knowledge of the terminology of the automotive, and Aftermarket industry.
  5. Draw and interpret sketches and simple drawings.
  6. Maintain electrical and mechanical systems in automobiles.
  7. Understand the expectations and responsibilities in an automotive shop.
  8. Fill out and implement work orders.
  9. Show proper care and respect for a customer’s vehicle.
  10. Perform maintenance and service on vehicles
  11. Perform basic welding operations.
  12. Maintain work area and equipment.
