University of the West Indies - Bachelor of Arts in Languages and Linguistics
The B.A. in Languages and Linguistics targets students who see their future in the global multilingual arena. The programme allows for the pursuit of fluency in more than one language, including foreign languages, English, Haitian Creole, Jamaican Creole and Caribbean Sign Language, while Linguistics courses focus on the structure of language, their place in society, and their use in translation and interpreting. Graduates of the programme are expected to be lifelong adaptable learners, critical and analytic thinkers, capable researchers and communicators. This programme provides a basis for postgraduate degree study in Linguistics and related subjects.
