The B.Ed. in Science Education is a programme for aspiring teachers who wish to become professionally certified as teachers at the secondary level in Life Sciences, Physics, or Chemistry. The programme of study consists of specialist courses for Science teachers, a core of education courses which provides the essential foundation for any programme in education, and content courses offered in the Life Sciences, Physics, and Chemistry programmes. An immersive practicum experience prepares the student-teacher for their profession. The programme is intended to stimulate students’ commitment to lifelong learning and continuous professional development. This programme provides a basis for entry into a range of Master’s of Education programmes, such as in Science Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Measurement, and Teacher Education.
