The B.Ed. Language Education – English is a programme for aspiring teachers who wish to become professionally certified as English teachers at the secondary level. The programme of study consists of specialist courses for teachers of English, a core of education courses which provides the essential foundation for any programme in education, and content courses offered in the Literatures in English and Linguistics programmes. An immersive practicum experience prepares the student-teacher for their profession. The programme is intended to stimulate students’ commitment to lifelong learning and continuous professional development. This programme provides a basis for entry into a range of Master’s of Education programmes, such as in Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Measurement, and Teacher Education.
