The B.Ed. in Social Studies/Geography Education targets teachers who wish to upgrade their status from a teaching diploma to a Bachelor’s degree. The programme of study consists of specialist courses for teachers of Geography or Social Studies, a core of education courses which provides the essential foundation for any programme in education, and content courses offered in the Geography and Social Science programmes. The programme is intended to stimulate students’ commitment to lifelong learning and continuous professional development. This programme provides a basis for entry into a range of Master’s of Education programmes, such as in Sustainable Development, Global Citizenship & Peace, in Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Measurement, and Teacher Education.
