NVQ Level 2 Health Care Assistance Patient Care
This National Vocational Qualification in NVQ Level 2 in Health Care Assistance (Patient Care) prepares persons to work, under the supervision of a physician, registered nurse, or a midwife at health care facilities; nursing homes, children’s homes, their immediate communities and in a home care setting to assist in providing primary, secondary and tertiary health care services. Candidates will be able to; apply customer relations skills, prepare for entrepreneurial strategy and computations, comply with occupational and quality standards in health, apply anatomy and physiology
and assist in implementing corrective/preventative measures, assist with nursing care for NCD’s, assist with the care for communicable disease, assist with the care for the dying, provide assistance with muscular coordination and movement, support the elderly adult to meet their social needs, assist with the care for clients with mental disorders, apply knowledge of pharmacology concepts and assist with medications and assist with nursing care for infant and adolescents.

After achieving this Certificate in CSA20118 NVQ Level 2 in Health Care Assistance Patient Care, individuals may work in the industry to assist in providing health care, under the supervision of a physician or a registered nurse or they may progress to CSA30118 NVQ Level 3 in Health Care
Assistance Patient Care or CSA30218 NVQ Level 3 in Geriatric Care in the Allied Health Sector of the Community Services Industry.
