Who this qualification is for: This qualification is aimed for persons who are registered as Technical
Electrical Assistant (TAS) and persons who are already working under the supervision of Registered
Electricians, Licensed Inspectors with the Government Electrical Regulator (GER) and or Professional
Electrical / Electronics Engineers registered with the Professional Engineering Registration Board (PERB)
or persons holding position or performing duties of superintendent of Roads and Works of any Parish
Council. Persons who complete this qualification can be employed as an Electrical Inspector.
This course will focus mainly on the testing and checking of electrical wiring, circuitry and equipment in
buildings, whether domestic, commercial and industrial installations. Consequently, the electrical
inspector will validate the entire system and verify that the installation conforms to local and international
code requirements.
Qualification Description: In this qualification the competencies and skills will allow learners to inspect
electrical installations according to established standards. Learners will cover clusters/modules geared
towards preparing them to: Manage Communication & Customer Service, Manage Electrical and
Electronic Works; Investigate and Report on Engineering works; Design Electrical and Electronic
Systems; Conduct electrical Inspection and testing; Engage in Professional Development; Manage
electrical inspection business. It also focuses on essential workplace skills such as customer service,
entrepreneurship, managing risks and workplace health and safety.
Qualification Value: Having completed this NVQ-J Level 5 Qualification, candidates will be awarded a
bachelor’s degree, which is regionally and internationally accepted. It provides a basis for matriculation
and is an alternate route to higher education.

After achieving this Level 5 Certificate in Electrical Inspection (EEM50223), individuals could
progress to a wide range of other qualifications in the Electrical Engineering or Metal Engineering
Maintenance industry.
