The BSc. in Accounting is designed to educate students on the theories, principles and practices of accounting.  Students who take this major are able to record, analyze, control, interpret, and communicate information about money flows and balances. Students are qualified to commence a professional career in accounting on graduation in all areas of business, government, and nonprofit enterprises.  The BSc Accounting major will also provide a fast track to gaining professional certification in Accounting. The curriculum aims to develop competencies which include (a) understanding the principles of organization and management in business operations; (b) ability to practice accounting, including income tax; (c) knowledge in specific elements of business law, economics, and information systems; (d) Knowledge of human relations as they apply to successful business operations in a rapidly expanding economy; and (e) understanding and being skilled in effective communication for business.
