NVQ Level 2 Gantry Crane Operations
This qualification is for individuals who wish to work as Gantry Crane Operators in the Transport Industry. An individual will acquire competencies on health and safety standards, preventative maintenance, and the proper procedures for safely operating Gantry Cranes. Candidates will learn the dangers surrounding lifting equipment, the importance of pre and post checks and how to carry out pre and post checks on lifting equipment, perform lifting, tension developed by angles of lifting equipment, and effects of sling angles on hardware. These individuals will be required to work under minimal supervision and are given clear directions on how to complete the tasks. The knowledge and skills components are geared to the
specific task assigned.
