This qualification is for persons pursuing the qualification for NVQ Level 4 in Agricultural Extension Services who have successfully completed the NVQ Level 3 in Agricultural Extension Services. The participant trained in Agricultural Extension Services Level 4 is a practitioner armed with a wide range of agricultural skills and experiences spanning various fields of agronomy, animal sciences, soil sciences business management, project management, research methods, climate-smart agriculture, and workplace communication. This technical training in agriculture is the basis of the advice and training the farmer will receive.

The training requires the learner to design field experiments, irrigation & drainage systems; develop business plans, soil survey maps, strategy for pest management, implement research plan, and environmental policies; manage crop and livestock production, develop demonstration plots, manage human resources, and research trials; monitor climatic conditions and quality assurance
procedures; and support innovations and change. At this level, the participant will advise on crop and animal care products; source goods and services and evaluate contractors; manage risks; and design and deliver effective training and presentations.
